day 1: arrival into barcelona (D)
transfer from airport to hotel for check in.
meet at 2pm for a guided tour of barcelona. you will visit the hill of montjuic, where you'll be treated to a gorgeous view of barcelona harbour.
continue to the iconic sagrada familia.
enjoy dinner + dapas in a local restaurant at night.
overnight in barcelona.
day 2: zaragoza and vineyard (B)
leave early morning and head west towards zaragoza.
en route, you will visit castell del remei (a vineyard near lleida) for wine tasting and lunch.
continuing on to zaragoza, you'll have a walking tour with the local guide. visit the basilica de nuestra senora del pilar and the palace of aljaferia for amazing photo-ops. learn a bit about the history of islam, christianity, and catholicism.
rest of the day for free time and exploration or a taste of some of the delicious local aragonese cuisine.

day 3: pamplona and san sebastian (B)
after breakfast, you'll be en route to pamplona where there will be a local guide waiting to show you 'round.
there will be time for a drink + tapas in the old town before heading off to san sebastian.
free time to wander to the lively parte vieja (old town) to see why this location is the food capital of spain.
overnight in san sebastian.
day 4 - 5: bilbao and rioja wine tasting(B x2, D x1)
enjoy a tour of san sebastian after breakfast before heading to the porty city of bilbao.
en route, you will visit a traditional family-run cider house for tasting.
in the afternoon, a guide will show you around the world famous guggenheim museum.
you will have free time to stroll around or enjoy some drinks at the numerous bars and pintxos available to you.
come day 5, you will venture into the rioja region, renowned for exceptional wine.
bodega and marques de riscal will be bubbling with wine waiting to be tasted. you'll then venture to logrono to enjoy an early dinner in calle laurel before returning to bilbao.

day 6: burgos and salamanca (B)
departing the basque country, you'll continue towards burgos.
after the walking tour, you'll move onto salamanca where you'll experience towering monuments with different examples of architectural styles and hidden backstreets.
free time in the evening to discover local bars and restaurants.

day 7: avila medieval city (B)
after breakfast, you'll be on your way to avila.
after a walking tour of avila, enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the local castilian restaurants.
head towards madrid in the afternoon where you will be joined by a local guide for a tour of the city.
the night will be at your leisure but maybe you'd want to have farewell dinner in a local restaurant to bid your newfound friends goodbye.

day 8: madrid (B)
tour ends after breakfast and hotel checkout.
