Just off the south east coast of mainland Bali, you’ll find the small trio of tropical gems that make up the Nusa Islands; Penida, Ceningan and Lembongan. Quaint slices of island paradise, a trip to this part of Bali should be next on your list and in particular, a stay at the beautiful Ohana’s Lembongan beach club.
Situated right on the beach, you’ll enjoy stunning views across the turquoise bay as sparkling waves lap the white sand shore. On a clear day, you’ll also spot Mt. Agung volcano over in Bali which makes for some pretty epic sunset sessions. Also home to a beautiful pool, surrounded by a trendy lounge, lawn and bar it’s the perfect spot to spend the day sipping sangria, sprawled across one of the day beds soaking in some warm Indo sun. Since it’s opening last year, Ohana’s has quickly made a name for itself as the trendiest beach club on the island!
The beach club is open to outside visitors all day, but what better way to have daily access to this little island paradise than staying in one of their beautiful on-site suites. The airy, spacious rooms are situated at the back of the property, a stones throw away from everything you need on site. Interiors feature the cool, modern-beach decor that echos throughout the entire property with king size beds, a mini bar and spacious bathroom it’s the best spot to rest your head after a day in the Lembongan sun.
Though many a day could be spent indulging and unwinding within the beach club itself, Ohana’s will also help you explore the rest of what these beautiful Islands have to offer. From day trips to Penida or a morning boat trip spent hitting the best snorkel spots (a must), be sure to have them book you on a guided trip. With several stops, you’ll see plenty of coral reefs, tropical fish and if you’re lucky maybe even a manta ray or two.
We also recommend utilising their scooters for daily hire, it’s really the best way to explore this island paradise. Climbing the winding roads to epic view points, dancing through the shadows of the palm trees and finding hidden beaches off the beaten track (be careful, some of the side roads here can get pretty bumpy), riding over the famous yellow bridge to Ceningan and then hopping along it’s smattering of quaint shore side beach bars – it’ll give you a sense of freedom and new way to experience tropical island life.
Getting there from Bali, you’ll find plenty of boats going from mainland, either from Padang Bai or Serangan. We like Blue Water Express for their efficiency and quieter route! Some more spots we recommend on your trip to the Nusa’s are The Devils Tears – an amazing spot to watch some powerful waves make some magic in an open cave off the north coast. Also be sure to hop over to Cenigan, stop at The Sand beach bar for lunch then check out The Blue Lagoon. The name speaks for itself, water so pastel and turquoise in a vast natural formation – and if you’re a total dare devil there’s a spot to cliff jump during high tide too.
Next stop, paradise!
